Cindy Connelly Ryan
Cindy Connelly Ryan is a Preservation Science Specialist at the Library of Congress, with a background in physics, art conservation, and art history. Her current projects are focused on iron gall ink deterioration and stabilization, recreating obsolete historic artists’ materials, analyses of collection items, and micro-fade testing. Previous projects include comparisons of pH and accelerated aging methods, assessing zeolites in archival housings, paper splitting, alteration of verdigris in aqueous media, light fastness in anoxic and hypoxic environments, and identification of plant gums in manuscript paints.
